Keynote Address, Dr. Bethany Wiggin
Dr. Bethany Wiggin, co-founder of DataRefuge and the Founding Director of the Penn Program in Environmental Humanities. Her scholarship explores histories of migration, ecology, language and cultural translation since the Columbian exchange on both sides of the Atlantic world. She aims to engage audiences beyond the academy to participate in making knowledge to connect the arts and sciences.

Open Advocacy: Activity
Now that you've been provided a crash course training on advocating for Open Education, and received information about local resources and legislation, let's plan actions! During this group activity you will apply workshop lessons by drafting an engagement plan. This engagement plan may include an advocacy campaign draft if time permits. All attendees will leave with 'next step' action plans to apply to their own context and goals in the next week, six months, and one year.
